The people behind Peartree: Georgie Hull

Interview with Georgie Hull, Head of ESG

As Peartree celebrates 40 years in business, we are recognising the people who have helped shape the company throughout its journey.

We sat down with Georgie Hull, Head of ESG, to reflect on her Peartree journey that began back in 2015, when she joined the business as maternity cover. What started as a temporary opportunity quickly became the beginning of a career she never expected.

Starting in client services, Georgie gained experience across several areas of the business, including payroll, before eventually moving into ESG – a role where she now leads Peartree’s environmental, social and governance strategy.

Looking back, Georgie never imagined where her career would take her.

“I definitely didn’t think I’d become Head of ESG.”

Today, Georgie plays a key role in driving Peartree’s sustainability ambitions and has been instrumental in some of the company’s biggest recent achievements, including achieving SBTi validation and EcoVadis Gold status – milestones she describes as some of her proudest accomplishments.

Throughout her journey, Georgie credits the support and opportunities she has received from those around her for helping her progress.

“Stuart [Commercial Director] and Nichola Underwood [People Director], 100%. Without them, I definitely wouldn’t be in the position I am in today.”

Having spent over a decade with Peartree, Georgie has seen the business evolve significantly, from changes in industry standards and regulations to the growing importance of sustainability. For Georgie, the supportive culture is what makes Peartree different and why so many people choose to build long careers within the business.

“Everyone is thought of and treated very well. You never feel like you’re just a cleaner.”

As Peartree celebrates 40 years, Georgie’s story reflects the opportunities that come from investing in people. From joining as maternity cover to becoming Head of ESG, her journey shows how careers can grow in ways people never expected.
