About Peartree Cleaning

A family-owned commercial cleaning company, independent since 1986

Commercial cleaning for workplaces

Peartree Cleaning Services provides commercial cleaning for client-facing workplaces across London and the UK.

Founded in 1986, we are the third-generation family business that has remained independently owned throughout 40 years of growth. Today, more than 1,500 Peartree colleagues support over 380 locations, from individual workplaces to complex national portfolios.

Our size gives clients national capability and operational resilience. Our independence keeps the service personal. Named senior leaders remain involved in every contract, our teams build long-term knowledge of the workplaces they look after, and Peartree 360 gives clients real-time visibility of performance.

We grow carefully and reinvest in our people, systems and technology. The result is a stable cleaning partner, familiar teams and consistent standards over the long term.

Our Story

The philosophy is what drives us forward today

Peartree was founded in Essex in 1986 by Bradley Reames, with a straightforward aim: to build a cleaning company clients could rely on.

The business grew through recommendations, repeat business and long-term client relationships. It did not grow by acquiring other cleaning companies or becoming part of a larger facilities-management group.

What our independence means for clients

Independence is not simply part of our history. It shapes how we operate.

We grow selectively

We are not working towards group acquisition targets or trying to become the largest provider in the market. We pursue contracts where we are confident we can provide the right management attention, resources and service standards.

That means every client is a relationship we have actively chosen to build, rather than one account among hundreds competing for attention.

Senior leaders stay accountable

The directors who own Peartree also run it.

Named senior leaders remain involved from mobilisation onwards, attending reviews, monitoring performance and supporting the operational team. Clients have direct access to experienced decision-makers who understand their contract and have the authority to act.

We provide stability and continuity

Peartree has remained independently owned by the same family since 1986.

We grow organically and reinvest in our people, systems and technology rather than relying on acquisition-led expansion. This gives clients continuity of ownership, management and strategic direction throughout their relationship with us.

Much has changed since 1986

Peartree is now led by experienced directors who are shareholders in the business and actively involved in its day-to-day operation. A third generation of the family is also working within the company, helping to carry its knowledge and values forward.

Our services now extend across the UK, our workforce has grown to more than 1,500 people and technology has transformed how cleaning performance is measured. What has remained consistent is our ownership, our focus on long-term relationships and our belief that good service depends on accountable leadership and well-supported people.

People who know your workplace

Cleaning standards depend on the people delivering them.

We invest in recruitment, training, fair pay and career development so that colleagues can build long-term careers with Peartree. Our staff retention rate is 85%, and the average Peartree colleague has been with us for six years.

That continuity creates practical benefits for clients. Experienced teams learn how a workplace operates, understand the standards expected in different areas and become familiar, trusted faces to the people using the building.

Many of our operational managers began their careers in frontline cleaning roles. They bring first-hand knowledge of the work, the pressures faced by site teams and the support needed to maintain consistent standards.

National capability. Local Accountability.

Peartree provides commercial cleaning services across the UK through regional operational teams supported by central specialists in health and safety, sustainability, HR, compliance and service technology.

Clients receive:

  • Dedicated local operational management
  • National resources and contingency support
  • Directly employed, Peartree-trained teams
  • Consistent quality and compliance processes
  • Real-time reporting through Peartree 360
  • Access to senior decision-makers

Whether we are supporting one London workplace or a national portfolio, responsibility remains with named people who know the buildings, teams and client priorities.

Peartree 360

Technology that earns its place

Technology should make a cleaning service easier to manage, not more complicated.

Peartree 360, our bespoke management platform, gives clients real-time visibility of their contract from a single dashboard. It brings together quality audits, KPI performance, compliance documents, planned works, reactive requests, invoices and service data.

Our teams also use occupancy information, QR task confirmation and carefully selected cleaning equipment where these can improve productivity, visibility or environmental performance.

Every investment must have a clear purpose: improving standards, giving clients better information or helping our teams work more effectively.

Responsible growth

Our approach to sustainability follows the same principle as the rest of the business: measure performance, act on the evidence and report progress clearly.

We continue to reduce the environmental impact of our services through our near-fully-electric vehicle fleet, lower-impact chemicals, water- and energy-efficient equipment and science-based carbon-reduction targets.

Peartree 360 also gives clients access to environmental and social information that can support their own ESG reporting.

Our progress is independently recognised through EcoVadis Gold, Neutral Carbon Zone Gold and targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.

Independent for the long term

Our ambition is not to become the largest commercial cleaning company in the UK.

It is to be the most trusted independent cleaning partner for organisations that value consistent standards, stable relationships and visible accountability.

We will continue to grow organically, investing in the people, technology and operational expertise that improve the service our clients receive. At the same time, we will retain the accessibility and personal involvement that have defined Peartree since 1986.
