The People Behind 40 Years: Terri Moss
As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, we are highlighting key members of the Peartree team to share their achievements and experiences within the business. This week, we are spotlighting one of our rising stars, Terri, who joined Peartree almost 13 years ago and has successfully progressed from a frontline Cleaning Operative to an Operations Manager.
Terri began her career with Peartree in 2013, developing operational knowledge on the frontline before moving into a supervisor role in 2021. Later that year, she stepped forward to take on a management position in the Southeast, quickly transitioning into a full-time Operations Manager. “At the start, I had little to no confidence, so overcoming that was hard,” Terri explains. “But as time went on I was able to grow into that confidence with the right team around me.”
Today, Terri’s role is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring acute adaptability to manage client audits, compliance, and rapid logistical changes. “Every day is different,” she notes. “If someone calls in sick or a potential issue arises, your day can change with the snap of a finger.” Despite the busy schedule, the position offers an excellent degree of flexibility that aligns with her lifestyle.
Having worked her way through the business, Terri possesses a deep, practical understanding of the daily pressures and technical standards required on site. “I think because I was once a cleaning operative, I know exactly what it is like.”, Terri says. “I am able to understand and care for my staff on a deeper, personal level as I have been in the same position before.” This shared experience builds immediate trust with onsite operatives, contributing to low staff turnover and highly consistent performance across all client sites.
Terri attributes much of her success to the supportive internal culture at Peartree. “They listen,” Terri explains. “You can go to them with anything… and they never make you feel afraid to ask for that help.”. This personal approach reflects Peartree’s structure as an independent, family-run business. While many providers dilute their focus by expanding into generalised facilities management, Peartree remains dedicated to optimising specialised cleaning solutions.
As Peartree celebrates its 40th anniversary milestone, Terri believes the company’s achievements belong entirely to the collective alignment of the workforce. “From Brad our Managing Director, all the way down to our Cleaning Operatives on site everyone pulls together,” she points out. Stories like Terri’s demonstrate the genuine pathways that exist within Peartree, proving that investing in ternal tent is what makes consistent excellence possible.
