The People Behind 40 Years: Georgianna Hull

As Peartree celebrates 40 years in business, we are recognising the people who have helped shape the company throughout its journey.

For Georgie Hull, her Peartree journey began 11 years ago when she joined the business as maternity cover. What started as a temporary opportunity quickly became the beginning of a career she never expected.

Starting in client services, Georgie gained experience across several areas of the business, including payroll, before eventually moving into sustainability – a role where she now leads Peartree’s environmental strategy.

Looking back, Georgie never imagined where her career would take her. “I definitely didn’t think I’d become Head of Sustainability. I thought I’d be the admin girl forever, just doing bits and bobs around the office,” she notes.

Today, Georgie plays a key role in driving Peartree’s sustainability ambitions and has been instrumental in some of the company’s biggest recent achievements, including achieving SBTi validation and EcoVadis Gold status – milestones she describes as some of her proudest accomplishments.

Throughout her journey, Georgie credits the support and opportunities she has received from those around her for helping her progress. “Stuart [Commercial Director] and Nichola Underwood [People Director], 100%. Without them, I definitely wouldn’t be in the position I am in today.”

Having spent over a decade with Peartree, Georgie has seen the business evolve significantly, from changes in industry standards and regulations to the growing importance of sustainability. However, she believes one thing has remained consistent, “The support from everyone.”

For Georgie, this supportive culture is what makes Peartree different and why so many people choose to build long careers within the business. “Everyone is thought of and treated very well. You never feel like you’re just a cleaner.”

As Peartree celebrates 40 years, Georgie’s story reflects the opportunities that come from investing in people. From joining as maternity cover to becoming Head of Sustainability, her journey shows how careers can grow in ways people never expected.
